3D2N Wae Rebo Traditional Village Tour

Wae Rebo is a living symbolic traditional house in West Flores, Manggarai. The houses are set up in a traditional and surrounded by beautiful rainforest. It is one of the great traditional houses on Flores Island. The 3D2N Wae Rebo traditional village tour is one of the recommended adventure tour packages. It is the perfect package for a long stay and wants to enjoy the island vibe. 

The houses designed are regarding the Manggaraian culture and customs. Totally made from the local wood combined with the fiber roof. There is a big and strong pylon in the center of the house. This is referring to the symbol of strong community life. And it is subject to provisions of local custom which are led by a strong leader.

Wae Rebo is a unique, traditional house that consists of 7 houses. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. The main house is standing in between the others which are called Mbaru Niang. The Mbaru Niang is used for the main traditional ceremonial of the village. It is also used to put the villagers harvest. Mabru Niang is also known as Mbaru Gendang. It is a meeting house.

3D2N Wae Rebo Traditional Village Tour Itinerary:

The 3 day and 2-night Wae Rebo tour package will start in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai. Our team will do a hotel pick-up and start your tour activity as per the below itinerary:

Day 1: Labuan Bajo - Denge

Pick up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo or Komodo Airport, then drive for 5 hours to Denge Village. Check-in at Denge Homestay, and then in the afternoon, you can hang out for a beautiful rice field and Mule's island viewing. Overnight at Denge Village.

Day2: Denge - Wae Rebo

After breakfast, you will start trekking for 4 1/2 hours to get to Wae Rebo Village. Walk along the beautiful forest, cross the Wae Lomba River, Pocoroko mountain sightseeing, and the Nampe Bakok Cliff. You will be at Wae Rebo village in the afternoon.

Your activities in Wae Rebo are visiting Hohor Ranto Waterfall. After that, in the evening you are welcome to enjoy a Mbata performance, a traditional welcome ceremony.  You have a cultural understanding of the Wae Rebo Village which is presented by Tua'a Golo, the village's chief.

After that, you are welcome for a local food dinner. Dinner will be served in a traditional way, which may look different from your home style. You are overnight here and slip into one of the traditional houses in a shared bed.

Day 3: Wae Rebo - Denge - Dintor - Labuan Bajo

After breakfast, you will go back to Denge village. Once you arrive in Denge village, our driver will welcome you and manage to continue driving to Labuan Bajo. You will go via Dintor village and enjoy a spectacular rice field in Lembor just before getting to Labuan Bajo.
